Information security & data privacy specialist, Dan LoPresto, co-authored an internationally recognized article on social engineering and was interviewed as an industry expert during a WESH TV News segment on RFID Security.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL, July 29, 2011, Dan LoPresto, Ph.D. ABD and Director, Information Protection & Privacy at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of security.

Demonstrating 15 years of industry know-how, Dan LoPresto excels in directing data security, privacy and compliance initiatives and related facets of information protection. Prior to joining Marriott Vacations Worldwide, he served for nearly five years managing Enterprise Information Security for Bright House Networks, formerly Time Warner Cable. He also held other leadership roles including Assistant Vice President and Information Security Officer for R-G Crown Bank (Fifth Third Bank), Access Management Lead Administrator for Charles Schwab & Company, Technology Help Desk Coordinator for Rollins College, National Technology Support Analyst II and Anti-Virus Administrator for Ernst & Young, LLP, National Support Specialist for IBM Corporation, amidst several other technology-related positions.

Having achieved a number of vocational successes, Mr. LoPresto considers becoming a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) to be especially rewarding. He co-authored an internationally published article on social engineering, was featured during a WESH TV News segment on RFID Security, and stays current with trends in his profession by consistently participating in industry-related training events. In addition to his responsibilities with Marriott Vacations Worldwide, Mr. LoPresto is an adjunct professor at Webster University where he teaches in the Business & Organizational Security Management Master's Program. He also owns and operates PitViper Industries - Technology Solutions, a company that focuses on teaching, repairing, upgrading and selling computers and peripherals.

Mr. LoPresto completed all Information Systems Ph.D. coursework from Nova Southeastern University in 2006, earned a Master of Arts degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of South Florida in 1997. He is also a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) through the SANS Institute. Mr. LoPresto is the Sr. Communications Director of the Central Florida Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and is affiliated with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and FBI Infragard.
